In mid-2012, media outlets reported that a film titled Lucifer was in development, to be directed by Rajesh Pillai, scripted by Murali Gopy, starring Mohanlal and produced by Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas, planned as a 2013 release.[8][9] Later, Pillai confirmed the news and said it is his “dream come true” to direct Mohanlal and the film will be a “treat” for his fans.
