The film follows a relentless pursuit for justice by one man against corrupt leaders who not only took his mother’s life but also perpetuate the systematic victimization of the less fortunate.
Drawing inspiration from the legendary Hanuman, symbolizing strength and courage, Monkey Man stars Patel as Kid—an enigmatic figure scraping by in an underground fight club. Night after night, concealed behind a gorilla mask, he endures brutal beatings from more popular fighters, all for a meager sum.
After years of repressed fury, Kid discovers a way to infiltrate the city’s sinister elite. Fueled by childhood trauma, his mysteriously scarred hands unleash a torrent of retribution, seeking justice against those who robbed him of everything.
Directed by Dev Patel from his original story and screenplay, co-written with Paul Angunawela and John Collee (Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World), Monkey Man delivers a cinematic spectacle packed with thrilling fight and chase sequences.
